Brett Favre Again
BRETT FAVRE? With football pre-season starting next week, NFL teams are scrambling to get line-ups together following a drawn out labor agreement. Free agents have anxiously awaited the day that they would find out their assignments, rookies wait in the wings to see if they will play and who's name tops the trending charts? You got it Old Man Brett Favre.
The famed quarter back from the Packer glory days is considering a stint with the Miami Dolphins. Even more amazing is the Miami Dolphins want Brett Favre. According to the Shutdown Corner, the Miami Dolphins coach Tony Sparano won't rule out the possibility of bringing in Brett Favre to compete for the team's starting quarterback job with Chad Henne and Matt Moore.
Why can't the greats go out in their glory instead of coming back, retiring, coming back, retiring and so forth? Brett, if I had a fork I would stick you with it because you are done.
Brett, you were great! But now it is time to move on. Your body is tired. Give it a break. It is painful for you to play and even more painful for me to watch.
I read an article by Chris Chase where he compared the recent fall in stocks to the return of Favre to the NFL. He said, "The 500-point drop in the Dow hasn't scared as many people Thursday as the possibility of Favre coming back."
Brett, you are 41. I know, how you feel. But think of us, the fans, for once. You had your worst statistical season last year with the Vikings. Call it a day.
